Getting Started
If you are having trouble playing the game (the game doesn't show up, or it gives you an yellow error page) then go to the
Trouble Shooting FAQs The game will take a short while to load, then will see a picture of a dragon and a hero. Click 'Enter World'. You are now on the Hero Selection screen. A default hero named 'Master' has been created for you. You may select him or create another. Once you have selected, click on 'Play Hero'. Now you must design your hero. Pick a race, then assign build points to attributes. You can pick some of the bonuses if you like, but for your first character try to keep all your attributes at eight (8) or higher. When finished with design (all build points are used) click on 'Enter World'. Each time you enter the world, you are waking up. On rare occasion, there are events which affect your awakening. Click on 'Awaken' to proceed. You are now in the Fields near Salamander Township. You have a small amount of money, so you might decide to shop for weapons before hunting. You can try Dullahs Shop, or take the Town Road for better shops. Use your 'pack' button, it is in the toolbar on the right. This shows your pack and lets you tab through other useful screens. If you have something in your pack that you want to use, select it and click on either 'use' or 'wear'. In order to go questing, return to the Fields. Now click on the 'Goblin Swells'. This is a quest area. You will encounter some creature, usually a goblin. When you are young, the monsters are relatively easy. When you are older, you might want to think twice before challenging a large group. If you get into a fight, you must click on an enemy in order to select a target. You can attack by clicking on the sword, defend by clicking on the shield, or run away by clicking on the boot. When you are more advanced, you can learn Gambits. These are special moves used by trained warriors and wizards. When you use Gambits you will spend wits - so there is a limit to how many times a day you can try a gambit. Back To Top
Chat and More Help
Chatting will let you talk to other players. If you type into the chat bar at the bottom and hit enter, your message will appear locally. On the toolbar to the right is a tab marked 'Chat'. If you use this, then the chat area will grow to cover most of the page. It will also shrink the area again. You have many command line commands available. Type /Help to see all the commands you can use. There is an in-game tutorial available. Type /Start to read it. You can change which channel you are speaking on. There is a small button marked '/t' next to the chat line. This button opens a menu which lets you select your chat channel. You can send commands to the 'Novice' channel by typing '/n msg'. You can do the same thing by switching your default channel to /n using the channel menu. To see other players, you can type '/peer' or '/world'. The first command shows who is standing nearby. The second command shows who is in the entire world.

Packs, Shops, Banks, House
On the toolbar is a large button with a picture of a backpack. This will open your pack. Your pack has five tabs - Pack, Gear, Ring, Stat, Peer. The first tab shows what you are carrying. The Gear and Ring tab show what you are wearing. If you have a piece of equipment in your pack, you can equip it by selecting it then clicking on the 'Wear' button. If you have food in your pack, you can heal yourself by selecting it then clicking on the 'Use' button. As you quest, loot is added to your pack. Examine it from time to time to see if you have found anything useful. Select an item then click on the 'info' button for more information. When you enter shops, they are trying to sell you stuff. There is a switch that will let you say you are trying to 'sell' instead of 'buy'. You can examine any item in a shop by selecting it, then clicking on the 'info' button. When you buy an item, a count will appear at the bottom showing how many of that item you possess. As you quest and sell items, you will collect coins. If you travel into town and look for a bank, you can deposit your coins to save for later. Banks will also let you transfer money to your other heros. NOTE: You must be level 2 to deposit money. If you save up ten silver or more, then you can buy a house. This will let you store items and transfer them to your other heros. Look for the 'For Sale' sign in any town.

Quests, Fights and Skills
Each hero has a limited number of quests for each day. As your hero gains level, this number increases. Initially, you will want to play several heros and develop them all. As time goes on, you will discover why quests are limited. Quests refresh each day at Midnight GMT. This is about 7pm EST or 4pm PST. There is a countdown in the upper right corner. When you quest, you will usually end up in fights. During fights, you will be shown several buttons. Sword = attack, Shield = defend, Boot = Run, Pack = use item. You must select a target before attacking. Click on an enemy and it will be selected with a red circle. Then you click on Sword to attack. As you learn new skills for your hero, new menus will apear. Magic, Healing and Combat skill menus will give you options for special maneuvers. Skills improve slowly over time. Each time you use a skill, you gain a 'training point'. Training points give you a CHANCE for skill improvement, they do not guarantee improvement. You can learn new skills at Guild Halls, such as the Brotherhood or the Hammer guild. Also, other players may be willing to train you in your skills.

Harvest, Crafting and Patterns
On the toolbar to the right is a tab labelled 'Zone'. This gives you access to the 'Harvest' button. Before you can harvest, you need to train in harvest skills at the Hammer Guild in Salamander Township. You can harvest three types of materials: Farmer, Miner and Woodsman. When your skill is low, you will get fewer materials and have to deal with more encounters. As your skill improves, you will get fewer encounters and more bonus materials. Harvested materials are used with Patterns to craft items. If you go to the Hammer Guild and look in their library, you can read the basic crafting scrolls. The patterns listed on these scrolls can be used to craft items. You will need to train your crafting skills. Then go to the Craft Hall and select your craft specialty. Be careful that you are 'crafting' and not 'rendering' as these are different. Once in the proper craft area, move materials and tools into the crafting boxes. If you have a scroll, you can hasten the proccess by using the scroll for your selecting. Now you choose to craft slow or fast. Fast crafting is cheaper and does not use a quest. This will let you stack up training points. When you craft slow, it costs more, has better results, and expends training points for skill points. You can discover the pattern of items by entering the 'Analyze', 'Render' or 'Dismantle' areas. Again, you will need to train your skills to start. When you successfully pull apart an item, your reward is a scroll listing the ingredients use to make the item. You can also experiment when crafting. The basic materials for crafting are very similar from level to level, but there are trace elements that are hard to discover.
