Browsers do become corrupt. In Dragon Court 1 this was the most common
reason for troubles. If your browser's JVM (Java Virtual Machine)
becomes corrupt, it will do surprising and widely varied things.
The simple fix: reinstall your browser. When you reinstall your
browser, you also get a reinstall of the browser's JVM unit. This
should clear up issues related to a corrupt JVM.
If you're customizing your browser for peak performance, you may
just want to reinstall the the JVM component instead of the whole
browser. It still may be a good idea to reinstall the JVM component
after a reinstall of your browser--that way you'll know for sure if it
wasn't this and you won't have to come back to this point!

If you're having trouble with a particular browser, please report
it to Fiends.com Staff either via a post to the Dragon Lice Forum
or via Contact Site Support.
Meanwhile, try a different Browser. So, if MSN or AOL or Netscape
doesn't work for you, try Internet Explorer, Opera, etc..
Trying a different Browser really may get you back into the game
quickly and easily.
The Java Console window is a tool that is in your browser. If you
are experiencing trouble with the game or site, the Java Console
is a likely place to look for an Error Message type of display which
will tell Fred what is happening on your end. Java Console messages
are helpful in communicating the nature of the trouble on the
user's end because they direct Fred to the code that caused the
trouble on your end.
If you are having trouble and do not see any messages in your Java
Console, that is useful information to report to Site Support also.
Not all types of problems would have Java Console Error Messages.
Here's how to open your Browser's Java Console window. If you're using
a different browser, it's likely you'll be able to find something similar
in your browser that will also direct you to the Java Console.
Opening the Netscape 7 Java Console
- on your tool bar, look under "tools"
- look for "web development"
- a sub-window opens under "web development" with your Java Console
- and there you have it! -->Click on the "java console" option
Internet Explorer Java Console
- You do need to relaunch your browser for the Java Console
activation to be completed once these steps are completed
- on the tool bar, go under "tools"
- choose "internet options" (the last item under 'tools')
- internet options is a small window
- select the "advanced" tab from the tabs along the top
- this "advanced" section is organized like an outline list

- On your top tool bar, see under "View"-->Java Console (last in the list)
If you are using a Miscrosoft Windows Operating System, players have
told us that the Microsoft Updates have cleared widely varied trouble
on their end. These Microsoft Updates have been reported to fix all kinds
of ailments: freezing, invisible pages, game performance, and Portal
performance.
What happens on the Microsoft Update page: Microsoft scans your computer
and tells you what updates are available and what these updates do.
Microsoft even provides a direct link in their Operating Systems to their
Microsoft Update Page. Depending on the Version of Operating System you
are using, this MS UPDATE link will be located in slightly different places.
You may find the MS UPDATE LINK:
- on your desktop as a button MS UPDATE
- under your START (bottom left corner)
Or, use a search engine to find this Microsoft Update page for your OS!
One of the most common reasons for trouble with Java is just the result of
a bad download.
You can do this in your browser and work on fine tuning these settings
in your browser.
Issues to consider when clearing your Cache and Objects/Files, or other
adjustments you can do from this window:
- if you have cookies that you NEED to preserve for other sites, they
will be effected. You can go in and look for the things you want to keep,
and do something slightly different than this "Cache clearing"
- please see below which will show you where you can go into see these
items so that you can look for what to keep and what to delete
Internet Explorer
- On your tool bar, go to "tools"
- under "tools" click "Internet Options"
- "Internet Options" is a small window
- On the "General" tab, far left top
- the General screen of Internet Options is split in three sections
- You have "Temporary Internet Files" in the middle
- History on the bottom
- Under "TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES"
- You can "Clear Cookies" if you don't care about saving anything OR
- if you want to see what you are deleting see "settings"
- to look at what you are removing, look under "FILES" and "OBJECTS"
try to either identify what you want, or try to find Fiends.com pieces
to clear.
- Settings has more controls you can customize to also help
- Make sure the SETTINGS are set to "Look for a new version of a stored
Pages" (*this setting is very important and cause you to not see new
site information, or, not see that your name is approved!)
- See the "Internet Options" History section on the bottom of
this "Internet Options" window
- this is just another way to clear the pages you've visited and your
browser is remembering. If you want to make sure your browser gets a
new download, clear your History.
Netscape
- on your tool bar see "EDIT"
- under "Edit" -->Choose-->"Preferences"
- in your choices, look for "Advanced"
- under Advanced, you should see "CACHE"
- choose Cache
- on your Cache controls:
- make sure your browser is set to "Compare the page in cache to the
page on the network "ever time I view the page," or at least "once per
session"
- you also have two types of Cache to clear here, Memory and Disk Cache
- under your Preferences choices you also have a History section,
look under NAVIGATER, History is toward the top.
- Just clear History to make sure, again, that your computer looks
to the Fiends.com server for new updates and information, or to get a
new download.
