Loggin In: Pick a name and password, put them in. Click on
[Send], then [Enter]. To Chat, just start typing messages. Click on a
world or fleet, then the [Engage] button to puruse. In battle, drag
your ships onto enemy ships.
StarDarts: These are immensely powerful ships that cannot be built, only found. They also count for victory conditions. Initially, Darts are located at neutral worlds. Once they are destroyed, they reappear in the center of stellar phenomena - neutron zones, nebulae, and gateways. Ghost Fleets: when a player fleet is destroyed, it becomes a Ghost Fleet. It has no ships, cannot attack or be attacked. It can still explore and go to player controlled worlds to pick up more ships. When a player has no more ships and no more worlds his empire is destroyed. Destroyed empires can 'rebirth' from the entry screen. Production: every 10 seconds, worlds create build points (BPs) equal to their pop+industry. Ships cost from 50 - 1000 BPs. You can create more industry up to a limit of 4 per population. Click on a yellow block, then on a type button. Click on 'send' to start the command. Command Production: when your command fleet is parked at a controlled world (even if the fleet is dead), that worlds production is increased by 1000 BPs per turn. This lets starting players build up their worlds fast. It also lets older players create a sturdier 'bastion' to withstand the barbarian hordes. Attrition: ships break down. All fleets lose ships very slowly. Without attrition, worlds would build their fleets slowly to infinity. Attrition means that planetary defenses have a maximum number of ships they can maintain. Any world can be taken give enough time and resources. ECM: ecm gives fleets a combat advantage. ECM comes from several sources - Rangers, StarDarts, and Planetary Attributes. Enemy ECM reduces your damage, friendly ECM increases your damage. ECM adds or subtracts damage from every attack.
Paper-Scissors-Stone: The ship types are different. Combined arms is often better than selecting a single ship type:
World Types: Some worlds are more valuable than others. You cannot get hurt by owning a world (they are all worthwhile). Stellar Phenomena can't be occupied:
Facility Types: Each world can hold exactly one facility. Facilities give bonuses to fleets and worlds. Look for [Settings] at the login screen and [Options] for more details.
